What is Connect to a Cause?
Connect to a Cause is a community-wide day of giving created to support local non-profit agencies in Lorain County. All donations will be coordinated by the Community Foundation of Lorain County and then disbursed to participating organizations following the day of giving.
- There is no limit to the amount of money a non-profit can raise during Connect to a Cause. The number of donors is also not limited.
- 25% of the organization’s fundraising proceeds from Connect to a Cause will remain in each organization’s agency endowment fund. The remaining donations will be given directly to the organization to support their mission.
- Thanks to several Business Champions, a $40K match pool will directly benefit participating organizations. With every donation received during Connect to a Cause, a pro-rated match will be given to your favorite organization, making your gift go even further.
Why should I donate?
Connect to a Cause supports 74 nonprofit organizations in all aspects of philanthropy. At Common Ground we believe that cost should never be a barrier to our programs. Your donation will support us today and tomorrow! Your support will not only help us serve more youth via summer camps, SEL programs and more, it will also help ensure our financial stability in the future through the contribution to our endowment fund with the Community Foundation of Lorain County.
How can I donate?
Online on September 15
Online using a credit card at https://www.peoplewhocare.org
Only on Thursday, September 15 from 8:00 am – 8:00 pm
Checks and cash are also acceptable forms of payment. The minimum donation amount is $5.
Checks and/or cash must be postmarked by Thursday, September 15 or delivered in-person to the Foundation office (9080 Leavitt Road, Elyria, OH 44035) by 8:00 PM on September 15. If you bring a cash or check donation to Common Ground before September 15, we will hand deliver it to the Foundation office.
Print this form and either mail it to the Community Foundation or bring it by Common Ground on or before September 15, 2022.
By a Donor Advised Fund or IRA
Donor Advised Fund (DAF) and Individual Retirement Account (IRA) donations must include this form. While the DAF/IRA check will come from the DAF/IRA administrator, a copy of the DAF/IRA donation form must be received by email by 8:00 PM on September 15th.
