Canopy Tour Guidelines

Ground School

The cost per person includes all safety equipment, and a short training session (ground school). Participants must successfully complete ground school prior to zipping, which includes demonstrating the ability to observe and respond to guide signals, control their speed by applying downward pressure with a gloved hand to a steel cable, maintain proper zip-lining posture, and to pull themselves along a short length of cable.

Participants must weigh between 70 and 250 pounds. The Canopy Tour is suitable for people of reasonably good health with average strength and mobility. Zip lining is a rugged outdoor experience.

The minimum age is 10 years old. Children between the ages of 10-15 must be accompanied by a participating adult and must be able to navigate through the tour without the help of the adult. Children 16-17 are permitted to do the course without an adult as long as they have had their parent/legal guardian/grandparent sign the Waiver and Release Form.

Closed toed/closed healed, secured, athletic footwear required (no sandals, flip-flops, crocs, slippers, etc.)

No one under the influence of alcohol, illegal drugs, or impairing legal drugs, will be allowed to participate on the tour. No one pregnant or that thinks they may be pregnant will be permitted.

Common Ground Canopy Tours reserves the right to exclude anyone from participation for medical, safety, or any other reasons.

Cancellations and Refunds

Reservations are required. Please arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled tour start time to allow for check-in and flight preparation.

If you are late you may not be able to join your tour. Your tour and guide will leave as scheduled whether you are there or not. No refunds are given for late arrivals. If you arrive late and we have to start your tour without you, we’ll make every effort to put you on a later tour if there is availability.

Please notify us as soon as possible if changes need to be made to your reservation. Cancellations must exceed 24 hours before your scheduled tour in order for a full refund, or we will reschedule your visit. Under 24 hours all reservations are considered final and no refund will be given, but a rain check can be given for the number of participants and will expire one year from the scheduled tour. Much preparation is required and expenses are incurred to accommodate each scheduled tour and due to limited space others have likely been turned away for your tour time.

If we cancel your tour due to weather or other unforeseeable conditions, we will reschedule your tour for another available time, or give you a full refund.

No refunds will be issued if participants are denied access to the course for failure to meet screening or participation requirements (including exceeding the maximum weight requirement), choose to depart the course early, or are removed from the course for their inability to follow guides instructions or to participate safely.

Every participant must sign a Waiver and Release Form. Participants younger than 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent/legal guardian/grandparent.
