ACE Information

Common Ground is a service provider for the Ohio Afterschool Child Enrichment (ACE)program.

What is it?

The Ohio Afterschool Child Enrichment (ACE) Educational Savings Account program provides qualifying families with a $1,000 credit per child. These funds can be used to pay for a variety of educational activities designed to help accelerate learning for children impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Families can qualify for up to $1,000 for each child if they meet one of the following criteria.

Who is Eligible

The ACE Educational Savings Account program is available to any Ohio child ages 6 to 18 years old (who hasn’t graduated from high school) who meet at least one of the conditions below.

RESIDENCY
Children residing in districts identified as having a high rate of chronic absenteeism or have one or more schools identified as EdChoice eligible qualify for an ACE Educational Savings Account.
School districts include Clearview Local, Elyria City Schools, Willard, Sandusky, and Lorain City. To view additional school districts visit https://education.ohio.gov/OhioACE

INCOME
Children who reside in a household with an Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) at or below 400% of the federal poverty level based on the household’s most recent federal income tax return qualify for an ACE Educational Savings Account. Find the chart of qualifying income levels.

GOVERNMENT SOCIAL PROGRAM PARTICIPATION
Children who are part of a family that participates in programs such as Medicaid, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Ohio Works First (OWF) or other government social programs with eligibility at or below 400% of the federal poverty level, qualify for an ACE Educational Savings Account.

How to use your ACE Funds for programs at Common Ground.

For Summer Camp

Once approved for ACE Funding you can either register for our summer camps, pay upfront and then be reimbursed from your ACE account or you can send an email to cground@commongroundcenter with the subject line “Request Camp ACE Invoice” with the following information in the body of the email.

  • Child Name(s)
  • Parent/Guardian Name(s)
  • Address of both parent and child
  • Parent/Guardian phone number.
  • Date of birth for the child(ren) attending camp
  • Camp weeks/dates you wish to attend.
  • Bus transportation needed?

For Canopy Tour, Tree Climbing and all other Common Ground programs.

You can pay upfront for the program and submit your receipt to ACE to be reimbursed or

You can call 440-965-5551 or email cground@commongroundcenter.org with the following information:

• Parent & student(s) names as they appear in your ACE account
• Activity you are requesting (Zipline Canopy Tour, Tree Climbing, Teambuilding Adventure, Life School (group based).
• Date(s) you hope to book.

We will use this information to produce an invoice that you will submit to ACE through their respective accounts.

Once we get a confirmation of approval from ACE we will contact you with a code to book.
