What People Say

The following quotes are excerpted from surveys mailed to parents after Earth Camp 2005-2007. Take a look and get an idea of what people think about camp!

GREAT EXPERIENCE, THANK YOU!!!

My child loves Earth Camp.

Mom it was amazing.

In three years at Earth Camp my son has never come home and had a bad day or said anyone was mean or learned a bad word. From a parent it is priceless to have a place your child loves and you can be at ease and proud to send him. Thank you!!!

I don’t want him to get too old to attend but no matter what we will never forget this wonderful experience. All children should get to enjoy. My child is so happy he is exhausted at night but can’t wait to go back. The program is one of a kind and I hope it is around for many, many years to come. David Jessop is always a pleasure to work with.

Both my children and myself look forward to Earth Camp next year. Then for the fun and me for the smiles on their faces and the sparkle in their eyes…

Both boys absolutely loved each and every day! They wished they could've gone the whole summer.

The staff seemed warm, compassionate, and perhaps most importantly, patient. Yelling, a feature unfortunately of many kids programs and school, was minimal.

Campers receive caring and love, no matter what walk of life the kids are from.

Earth Camp provides a fun, learning experience for kids. My son met real friends and enjoyed being there, much more than attending a daycare.

Earth Camp's greatest strength is the positive and constructive programming for Lorain County's youth.

I love the patience and peace and acceptance & sharing message. It's a shame all children and most adults couldn't go and experience and learn and grow.

Earth Camp’s greatest strength is allowing the campers to get together with other children and being taught how to get along as well as allowing them to experience nature at such a wonderful place.

My son was waiting for the bus one morning and he asked me if I wanted him to come home wet or dirty that day. Parents and I found this funny…like we had a choice between the two.

My husband and I loved the Friday picnic with families. The whole week of Earth Camp I was anxious, nervous of what my 5 yr. old was doing all day so on Friday I was thrilled to go see and meet. I was so pleased!!! I was amazed that after 4 1/2 days so many of your counselors knew his name and said hi to him in front of us. My background is in the service industry and that is a true sign of caring to remember a name, not just do "buddy" or "little guy" or "sweetie", which I have no problem with! It would be so hard to remember everyone's name but it just showed me that everyone cared. My son is the most important thing to me and that made me feel that he was important to all of you too! That Friday picnic I relaxed the first time that week. And I knew he would be back next year. Thank you!

Earth Camp is a fabulous experience all around!

One of Earth Camp’s strength’s is the diversity of the children’s backgrounds. They all get to do the same things and are treated as equals.

I think you guys are awesome :-).

There were so many fun, exciting moments. My children enjoyed every aspect of the camp. I enjoyed the camp because my children like it so well and it was a fun, learning experience for them.

When you say Earth Camp, we didn’t realize he would bring home half of the camp!! :-)

I can’t express how much Earth Camp has done for my child. It was the highlight of her summer. She just loved the counselors! I want to thank you so very much for letting my child attend. As I cannot afford the cost as I am a single grandparent on disability (retired). This has been a great experience for her and made me so happy to see her so excited to attend. She couldn’t wait each morning to go! She still talks about it! You’re all in my prayers. Thank you so very much from my heart. God’s Blessings to all of you!!

We greatly appreciate the opportunities our children are given.

Keep up the good work. See you next year :-).

Keep up the good, solid work!
