Pepsi Refresh - WaterWorks

Win an iPad just for Spreading the News!

Common Ground has submitted a proposal to the Pepsi Refresh Project titled Water Works. In the proposal, Common Ground outlines a plan to replace an old swimming pool with a “splash park”, which will help kids cool down on those hot summer days. This project will only be possible with a Pepsi Refresh Grant and the support of the entire community.

From September 1 through September 30, the Water Works Proposal will be posted on site www.RefreshEverything.com/WaterWorksAtCommonGround and will compete for the most votes. The project with the most votes will receive a $250,000 grant.

To help spread the word and encourage others to vote, Common Ground has launched a Vote and Pass it On Contest. Participants have the opportunity to win one of four iPads.

Participants of the Vote and Pass It On Contest must become a Facebook fan of Common Ground WaterWorks. Starting September 1, participants are encouraged to vote by text and online and make daily status updates encouraging others to vote. After posting the status update, participants need to post a message of support on Common Ground WaterWorks’ Facebook page. Each day that participants post a message of support to Common Ground WaterWorks’ wall they will be entered in the contest to win one of four iPads. Common Ground will randomly select one winner each Saturday in September.

FIREWALK WITH US!

COME, WALK ON FIRE      Got Fears?  Face them!

It's the 4th year of the Annual Gregg Gilder Memorial Firewalk.
Is this your year to join us?

firewalk

This annual transformational experience where participants learn to face and overcome their fears, and reach their full potential for greatness!  At the conclusion of an inspirational and interactive presentation, participants will have an opportunity, if they choose,  to walk on fire!

Have you ever been faced with something that you didn't think you could handle? Does a fear of the unknown keep you from doing new things? Are you looking for a way to enhance your individual sense of wholeness and well-being? If you've answered "yes" to any of these questions, then the Firewalk at Common Ground is for you!

Firewalking is an ancient practice utilized through the ages by shamans, priests, and ordinary folks both as a religious ritual and as a healing ceremony. Scientists believe that the ability to "walk on fire" is a simple matter of physics, however, Common Ground conducts the program as a technique for personal growth. Firewalking can demonstrate how our thoughts impact everything else in our lives. It's a wonderful example of the mind-body connection at work.  Participants of all ages are welcome; children may walk with parental consent and supervision.

Facilitated by Dave Tuscany, a certified fire walk instructor, returns again this year to lead the experience.

Saturday, September 11, 6:00 - 10:00 PM

Fee:    $25, if registered by Tuesday, August 31st or
$30, if registering after August 31st
